Furniture designer, cabinetmaker, and master carpenter serving Sebastopol, Sonoma County and Napa Valley since 1989.
After years of working throughout the Bay Area, I moved to Sebastopol in 1999 to create my own workshop in a quieter and more creative setting. Having the space to design and build by hand has allowed me to focus more deeply on custom furniture, bespoke cabinetry, sculptural woodworking, pedestal inlay tables, and functional art.
Over the years, I have continued to experiment with soft metals, wood inlays, marquetry, custom hardware, and new materials to create one-of-a-kind pieces for homes and offices. My work includes custom cabinets, built-ins, hidden doors, fine furniture, fireplace mantels, libraries, gates, kitchen remodels, and handcrafted architectural details.
I was also fortunate to study at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris, where I received first place in sculpture. That experience continues to influence the way I approach form, movement, balance, and craftsmanship in my work.
Inspiration comes from the intersection of science, engineering, and visual art. I strive to create woodworking and furniture that is both functional and expressive, with a sense of movement and refined design.
Many of my pieces are inspired by flight and motion: birds gliding along hillsides, the wings of an airplane, sweeping lines in nature, or the curve of the human form. I often look for those shapes when designing table legs, cabinetry details, hidden compartments, movable extensions, and sculptural elements within a piece.
My goal is always to create custom woodworking and functional art that feels alive, timeless, and completely original.
